How to make a goal and keep it
Goals, why do we have them? Do they make life different, do they improve it? In this blog post we will be (well I will be) talking about the pros and cons to goals.

Have you ever set a goal? I have set millions of goals but have kept less than half of them. Why? Because I didn’t write it down. You have a much higher chance of achieving your goals if you can see them everyday and have them written down on a piece of paper or a screensaver on your phone. This technique works very well because you won’t forget your goals if you see them EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Most of my goals have been school related. Such as: Reading, Writing and Maths. 100% of my goals that have completed when I wrote them down on sheet or in a google doc. I had my Mom and Dad write the code so I could type in how much I had and it would automatically tell me how much I had left until I completed my goal! As the years have passed the Goal sheet has gotten more sophisticated. Now I have how many days are left in the year and how many days it will take me to finish it if I do a specific amount everyday. This has been a great source to go back to and it really motivates me and it has the exact numbers all on the same page.
How to come up with a goal and make it realistic!
Just ask yourself two questions, what do you want to achieve and in how many days? Please do NOT make this a new year's resolution! Why does the new year motivate you? Why can't you start today or yesterday? Make sure that you would want to achieve this goal if you were the last person on the earth. So if it is impressing a guy or girl, find a goal that will make you feel more confident not more "impressable".
Once you have picked out your goal you need to estimate on how many minutes or hours you would be spending in a day, week, month and then double it. I have had so many experiences where I underestimate goals and I am so disappointed when I haven't finished and I am not 3/4 done. You can strive for the earlier date but keep in mind that since you might not have that one thing in your life that you are working on that you will get busy with other important things. A habit can be developed in 30 days but to be effortlessly added to your daily routine it needs to be done for 90 days.
While you are working on it and you don't want to be doing it, remind yourself all the good things that will come from it. Especially if it is a fitness goal, such as eating better or working out, it may extend your lifespan (more goals in your future;).

The end of your goal. When you finish this goal in how many days, months or years, have a celebration! You did it! Even if you shorten your goal, celebrate that you did your best and you added something good to how you live you life. You can have a big celebration with friends or keep it small by doing your victory dance or dancing like nobody's watching, to your favorite song. However you decide to celebrate make sure you do it well. Do not skip this step and make sure that you have celebrated just enough and never under, you deserve it.

Goals have been a massive part of my life and it gives me something to live for. I hope my suggestions have helped you pick out a goal and start achieving it!
