My favorite 11 songs at the moment
I love music, but I have tons of favorites. I thought I would make a list of 11 songs that I love to work and dance to. Let's get into it!
My Own Dance by Kesha
Kesha is my Idol (actually everyone here is). She wrote the first song that I have started crying when I heard it. Praying (the very sad but true song) is about her being in a bad relationship but getting over it and wishing the best for the other person but sang very differently than other break up song I have heard. My Own Dance is a newer one and very poppy and happy. The music video is about cereal. It is really funny, I am guessing she was craving cereal when she thought of a theme for the video. You can really see that she is at a point in her life where she just loves life. And yes I do my own dance to this video…
Soulmate by Lizzo
We saw Lizzo in concert at the midtown music festival in Atlanta. She was amazing. I didn’t know this song until a month after the concert. She is about not needing anyone except yourself and this song really has so many fun lyrics. My favorites is “She never tells me to exercise, we always get extra fries” but there are so many! You may have heard Lizzo from the song “Juice” but she does “Truth Hurts”, “Jerome”, “Cuz I Love You”, etc! I definitely recommend seeing her in concert!
Vitamins by Qveen Herby

I LOVE Qveen Herby, every song she does is amazing but this is one of her best. EP7 is amazing! There has not been an album where I have loved all the songs until now. It’s about self care, having fun and female empowerment. Could you ask for more? I also like one of her not so popular ones “Mozart” with Blimes and Gifted Gab.
Genetics by Meghan Trainor
It wouldn’t be a favorite song list without Mrs. Trainor! This is about someone being abusive in words and how she dealt with it. I can’t really describe it to it’s justice, so click the video to hear this AMAZING song. Everytime I hear this song I sing "Where'd you get that bod, is it from god?".
NASA by Ariana Grande
It starts off with “This is one small step for woman, one giant leap for women-kind”. Deep. I had this song in my head on the whole ride to NASA, when we were going to see a rocket launch. She had a whole conversation with NASA on twitter! Here's the link . Buzz Aldrin even talks with her! She was then asked to visit the NASA headquarters! Here is a short video of her people from NASA and having the time of her life. Ok I am done with the links for this song!
Mother by Charlie Puth
The first guy on the list! He is actually one of the only male singers that I like in the 21st century. It’s weird but I don’t like Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, but I do like listening to Bruno Mars; I am not that bad. When the song first came out I thought it would be about his mom and a sweet song about how much he loved her. Part of the song is about a mom but definitely not what you think. It is a great music video. It shows a group of teens driving around in a woodie with the license plate “youth”. The new songs that he has been coming out with have been great. I got the chance to see him in concert but it was either him or Lizzo, since they were on different stages at the same time. I chose Lizzo but I still like listening to his music. “I Warned Myself” and “Cheating on You” are so catchy. In “I Warned Myself” he chokes himself and makes a "ughjigdhj" noise that I love to re enact (it’s the little things that count!)
Slide Away by Miley Cyrus
This song is SO sad but so beautiful. You can really feel her pain and you know she was trying to make her relationship with her husband work, but sometimes things just don’t work out. She released this single the day after her and Liam Hemsworth publicly announced that they were getting divorced. Please don’t, not listen to this song because you don’t like Miley Cyrus because of her past. She has matured and is a great person she was just trying to find out who she was back then.
La Di Da by Lennon Stella
I think she was 17 when she wrote this and it’s another breakup song. I am seeing a pattern in styles of songs! How she came up with this song was when she was going through a really bad breakup, someone told her that she should envision what it will be like once she gets over it. Lennon couldn’t write any songs based on how she was feeling because she would start crying. She was able to write a great song and get over her breakup faster!
Look At Her Now by Selena Gomez
This is a song about a girl after she has recovered from a breakup. She explains that it was her first real relationship, they were very different and he cheated. Look at her now. The “wow” in the background sounds so awesome and is like an angel singing
Another break up song. But she addresses that she was afraid of change and that is why she didn’t break off the relationship. The video is very simple but gets the message across very well. Noah Cyrus was supposed to be at the Midtown music festival but we didn’t go to see her. A couple months after the concert, I got into this song and was very sad that we didn’t go see her. But she canceled the show last minute so everything worked out for the best ;).
Liar by Camila Cabello
Coolest music video I have seen this year and I have seen quite a few. This is about being in a relationship and having the other person making you feel like a bad person in a relationship.
The video has a very self centered boyfriend and the cinematography is impeccable
