Yoga, written when I was 13

Yoga, some people love it and some people think it’s extremely boring but they like saying ohmmmmmm.

One day I decided that I wanted to wake up at 5 am and do yoga. It sounded like a good habit and I could say to someone “I woke up at 5 and did a little yoga, what did you do?”. Today that sounds very egotistical but then it sounded cool. I set my alarm clock for 5 the next day and I actually got up! I went downstairs and cued up a yoga video. I did one and then another.

Then I made myself some breakfast and watched the sun rise. I don’t think I have ever woken up before the sun! That was pretty cool and fun to watch. I woke up before almost anyone in the whole town! It was so quiet. I did that for a week and started to notice that I was in a better mood and happier. Then I started waking up at 6 so my mom and I would be up at the same time. I could do yoga and get all my math done for the day before 7! I would start writing blog posts and I did 5 a day for 5 days! Which was a ¼ of what I was suppose to do in a year! I was much more productive and had more time to relax. I don’t know if this happens to everyone who tries yoga but I can guarantee you it will give you something to do or more, depends how much you try. I think that you will get more out of it when you do it by your self. When you do a yoga class, you feel more pressured to do all the positions properly and there’s an instructor walking around looking at you.

When I do it at home and have someone guiding me I don’t feel as pressured.And you may be able to start relaxing. If you don’t already have a yoga mat lying around form when you said you would do it 5 years ago you can use a blanket. I used a blanket for 4 months and then got a yoga mat to ensure that I would use it once I got it. I invited a friend over and we did some yoga and it was a blast. We were exercising and having fun! When you first do it with a friend it will be relaxing but in a fun way. I fell over so many times when I did it with a friend because we were laughing so hard.  When you do it by yourself you're focusing more on staying centered and finding your 3rd eye (I haven’t found mine yet, if you find it, please let me know!).

If you already haven’t started doing yoga form how fun it sounded here please give it a go. You do not need to wake up at 5-6 am to do it. You can do it at 10pm or am. Whenever it is convenient to you. If you are a beginner or an old wise yogi, I recommend Yoga with Adrienne! Here is a good video
