Being born
When you're born your mom looks at you and thinks what a beautiful kid you are. They take that moment to realize how lucky they are to have produced you and given someone life.

After that moment things get a lot harder. When you take your newborn baby home, you think you have everything all set up for the new thing you've been waiting for, for 9 months! You can never be prepared for a kid, but at least you know it's coming! When the baby finally falls asleep after you and your spouse trying for hours (literally) you just want to cry and get some sleep. So that's what you do, you walk to the bedroom get into your nice warm bed get all cozy and snuggled in and you close your eyes. Then your child starts crying, do you still feel lucky anymore? Your spouse is already asleep (or pretending to be) so you have to get up! This goes on for a couple weeks and get 2 or 4 hours of sleep if you're lucky. You have to go to work and function as a person, to pay for all the things that your baby needs. After he/she turns one, you have gotten a couple more hours of sleep and feel super energetic!

If you don't think this is a correct observation, think of the first day that you brought she/he home. Then all of a sudden it's time for Kindergarten! You can't believe your baby is already 5! They love to color and make you little pictures of artwork that you hang on the fridge. You now realize that they have no recollection of when they were 3 months old and the games you used to play the made them laugh so much. You have to realize that they'll never know any of those games you used to play or food that you used to give he/she airplane style. Once you are okay with that, maybe it takes you a couple minutes or a couple weeks just try to realize that and be as positive as possible. Then you get your first report card! It says that your child is focused and works well with others (mine was: I talked to much to others and was unfocused), you try not to jump for joy, because you remember telling them to say please, thank you and most importantly: treat others as you would like to be treated.

Your baby is now 7! How did time go by so fast? She/he starts to not cling to you so much which is sad but you understand that they are gradually growing up and making new friends. Their favorite foods are chicken nuggets, pizza and juice. It's easy to make and they love it! Now they are 10 and getting a bit more attitude, they don't say please and thank you a ton anymore like they used to but they still love pizza. They want more expensive electronics and the new toy that all of their friend's parents bought them. But they can't understand why you won't. You reminisce about the times where you could give them a box of $2 crayons, some paper and they would be so happy just drawing and making designs on that paper. Raising a human is different for everyone and it doesn't stop when they turn 10 but you get where I was going. It will be one of the best things you do and you won't regret it even when they yell at you.
