family
Family. We all have them. If you were adopted or you were raised in a foster home you still have a family. Or if you have 2 biological parents or just 1. The people take care of you and even at some points in time when you think that they don't love you, they do.

Your mom carries you for 9 months and then she gives birth. She already loves you because she has been with you for 3/4 of a year. She brings you home with your dad, and grandparents or just herself. You start crying and they can't figure out why. They have already tried to give food, water, checked your diaper and given you extra love. Nothing seems to work so they start crying because they have done EVERYTHING in their power to make you happy and they failed as a parent and to make things worse, and it was their first day! This is all the things that they are thinking of while you just don't feel good and started to cry.How do I know this? Because I am a parent! No, I am joking, hopefully I won't be for a very long time. But how do I know this? I hang out with a lot of adults and the ones that have kids talk about them, a lot! But most of the time being a parent is great. The things I have heard parents say the most is "It goes so fast" and then that they are off to college and they have an empty room in their house.

But when your baby is crying, time seems to go a little slower... Anyway, having a family is awesome, sometimes. When you are 4 they are your best friends! Or at least your mom is. Sometimes you go to the park she drops and picks you up from school and she is just always there for you. Not to mention when she makes you giggle when you are in the car. Now dads are a little bit harder to explain. Your dad is really into sports or he likes to BQQ or, neither! Dads are complicated (and they say teenagers are) they are either a big part of your life or they work in the city and you only see him on the weekends or at night. For example, you can remember having all sorts of fun times with your dad or you have one or two but he is kind of a mysterious man. Parents can be the things that make you mad but also the reason why you get through things (they are always by your side, they are like stuck there until you are 18!) and keep you motivated. Sometimes they can seem like they are the worst parents in the world and they say that "they are doing it to make you a better person" and "It's the best thing to do". But in the end, I am sure you turned out great and you can thank your parents (for part of it).
