The future of vacation
I love traveling and I get to go on vacations quite a bit but not everyone else can. What if there was a way that you could go on vacation as your lunch break. I’m not saying do as you would on a vacation in 30 minutes or however long your break is but get transported to it!
They've created VR headsets to make you feel like you are in a place. What if you ate lunch on a tropical island? You could click a button when you have a 10 minute break and be transported to a relaxing place! You could relax whenever you have the time! But doesn’t working your butt off and then getting a vacation at the end of the day or every 2 weeks a year make you feel like you deserve it? I think it does. Although right now you may not be on vacation and not loving your life but think about the time when you will be! It will be amazing in all your hard earned money will go to your pleasure! Or you go to a family's house and save money on lodging and get to spend quality time with your family if you don’t dislike them!
Not only does this create great memories with your family but a better experience than just go on vacation with yourself (if you are into that, that's no problem). Now this is a thing that could happen in real life, in the future… But would it make us appreciate things more? How often have you thought about your vacation at work? If you love your job (Hopefully I will when I actually get one) then you should be in the moment, but if you are like 60% of Americans than you will be thinking about the time that you are not at the office, etc, when you are there. How many years away are we from flying cars and VR headsets that we live in because our real life isn’t as fun and cool? Is this what the world is turning into?! Oh no! It makes me think back to when we didn’t have microwaves or when we had to go outside to go to the bathroom. Yes microwaves and bathrooms.
Back then we worked for our food. And more thankful to go to the bathroom? It took longer and we savored it more because we worked for it. These days we have a baked potato ready in 5 minutes! Instead of collecting wood starting a fire getting a potato from your garden and roasting it for who knows how long! I would enjoy that baked potato more than the 5 minute one, even though I may be able to enjoy watching my show while eating and have that comfort. This age has gotten so used to everything being fast. When you need something, go on Amazon and order it. Or go to the store. If you want some food, go on Ubereats, Postmates or another food store. It's quick but it won’t be efficient, if there is so much CO2 in the air that someone can’t drive over and give you your food or groceries… Make sure that you are efficient with your time and environmentally friendly!
