How stores are transitioning to zero waste, slowly...

When I first went zero waste I thought all stores were trying to sabotage me. I could only find some fruits and vegetables and they had stickers. I was like nothing is zero waste we're all going to die!! Yes I was that dramatic but I started looking at what non eco-friendly places were doing to be a little better. I always see bad news about how if we don't get our act together we will all die and only one of those is true. We're all going to die, that's what humans do. So, here is some good news to make you feel all good and fuzzy inside!

1.  Target
I went to target and I took 20 pictures of cleaning wipes for you. And this one guy looked a me really weird. But I still thought it was so cool!

2. Snapchat
I was on Snapchat doing my thing and I got an ad for face wipes that decompose in 42 days and my mind was blown. So many teens are going to see that and they might buy it instead of what they usually do.

3. Chipotle
I kept on seeing ads for Chipotle's Carne Asada burrito bowl and it took me so long to get there that I became a vegetarian! They have a vegan meat called Sofritas and it's so good! This was my second time going to Chipotle so it was very scary since everyone there is like I go here everyday. The first time I went we were on a road trip and it was the only food close to us. They have a compostable container, if you get it to-go they have a metal top which is recyclable and bring your own silverware and it's zero waste fast food!. I got for here so they didn't give me a metal top.

The red stuff on top is super spicy hot sauce. I was crying after I ate this...

4. Panda Express
My Dad got food from here and he usually gets it in styrofoam clamshells with a plastic bag, plastic fortune cookie bag, plastic forks, etc. He got it for here and got chopsticks, compostable plates and no fortune cookie! Yes he did get meat but he didn't get things that will last for 500+ years and use it for less than an hour.

5. Publix
Our local grocery store usually has their fresh bread in this stuff
Bag Tek Clear Plastic Bread Bag - Micro-Perforated, with Wicket Dispenser - 16" x 10" - 250 count box
But we asked one of the people at the bakery counter if they could put a baguette into our bag instead of plastic. They didn't have baguettes unpackaged but they did have hoagie rolls (which are really good) and she put four in my bag. She said that if we wanted to get a baguette or two to call between 7-8 am when they're packaging it and they can set the bread aside for us to pick up.

Now I will be coming out with a part two so stay tuned!
