How to plan an actually AFFORDABLE trip!

I LOVE traveling and I think you might too. I have been traveling since I was seven (out of the US) and I was a couple months old when I first went to Disneyland. I don't think I want to live in the US for the majority of my life, not because I have anything against it. I feel like there is so much to explore in the world and I have already visited 40+ states in the US. So in order to travel I have to plan a trip! If you have ever had the desire to do so as well, here is one way of doing it!

1. Figure out where you want to go
If you already have a specific place in mind figure out what transportation you have to take to get there (plane, car, train, bus, etc). If you just want to explore the world and have fun. Google places that have things that interest you. Maybe you really like food, art, animals, buildings, culture, etc. Find a place that you know has things you will like. Or maybe go to place where a friend lives and stay with them (free lodging!).

2. Transportation
I mentioned this in the first tip. If you have to fly, I highly suggest Google Flights or Skyscanner. If you go to Google Flights make sure you choose where you live and click "All Airports". This is very important. If you don't do this there may be cheaper flights around the area that you're missing out on. Then put in your destination. I chose Paris, once again make sure you click the all airports option. The cheapest flights I found for a roundtrip and a long enough vacation was... $424.80. That's pretty good. When I click on the calendar it takes a couple seconds for it to show the prices but if you scroll through the months you can find some really cheap flights. Mine departed on September 26 and returned on October 7th. 11 days, a nice vacation, right? Another thing you can do is take a train or bus to a nearby city or country. Such as London (for a Paris trip). I hypothetically did a trip starting on April 1st form Orlando to Paris ($166 one way). Then I stayed in Paris for 7 days ($603) and flew to London ($57). Stayed in London for 6 days ($300) and then flew home to Orlando. All together that was $1,346! To fly from Orlando to Paris ($424.80 round-trip), stay in Paris for a week ($1,003) and then fly back home. All together that was $1,427.80. For 7 days. And the previous one where I went to London as well, it was cheaper and I got to travel for 13 days!

3. Lodging
It's very crucial that you stay in a safe place that is close to the places you want to see and has yummy restaurants nearby! You can look on Airbnb and specify the amenities you need (such as a kitchen, air conditioning, free parking, how many beds and bathrooms you want, etc!). Another place you can stay is "Hotel Airports". There are places like the Premier Inn (that's how I got my 6 days in London for so cheap) that are right across from the airport but close to many other things. Then once you are ready to fly back home or to your next destination you don't have an hour plus drive!

These 3 tips have only been the bare necessities for traveling! I haven't talked about visa applications, getting your passport and what to do when you're in a place you've never been! I hoped you liked it and I might write a part II...
