Should you be pressured to do anything on Valentines day?

Valentines day is a commercial holiday. Buy candy, stuffed animals, lingerie, etc. I feel that it pressures people to do things with their love life. If they're with someone they may push them into doing something that neither of them are ready for. Because it's Valentines day! On January 2nd I saw ads that Savage X Fenty came out with their Valentines day line. I get that you want to be prepared but that's really early.

Have you ever that of spending Valentines day with yourself? Picking some wild flowers or getting some chocolate and watching a romantic movie? SELF CARE! 

Now lets talk about the ways you can have a Valentines zero waste!

Ask yourself what you want to do for Valentines day.

I said a dessert because I love a good sweet!

Yeah, I made that. I highly recommend making something for you or your significant other. Not only is it a romantic to have a nice treat but you can spend quality time together eating and enjoying the others company. The recipe for this tart should be coming soon (like in the next month)! 

If you want chocolate, I got stuff for you! If you have a bulk store near you see if they have chocolate chips or chocolate wafers. 

If you don't have any bulk stores near you I suggest going with some environmentally friendly chocolate brands. Here is an AMAZING article about which ones to get. And they have fun flavors if you want to spice up your chocolate life! They even have a variation of Reese's peanut butter cups!

Yeah I was really excited about that. 

Get a book. You can get one from Amazon Kindle or a real book. It can be a book that you have been dying to read and haven't had the time. This is your time! 

I've been into how the human brain works and stuff so my Dad got me toward the psychology of being. If you decide to get a book that you can hold in your hand, Amazon sometimes has an option where you can get the book used but if they don't I highly recommend going on thriftbooks! All there books are used so that can be a second resort if Amazon doesn't have free shipping!

Okay, now for under wear. Where do I start?

A lot of lingerie places support you wanting to be more eco-friendly and they will honor most of your requests. Such as Adore Me. They have affordable lounge wear and they have sizes XS to 4X!



Soma another underwear brand claims hat they are eco-friendly. Literally I asked an employee on a live chat and she said "Soma is environmentally friendly". But didn't say why. Also just for this bra

It's $52! So not affordable, but will probably be able to go through a couple more Valentines day's.


Now if you want to give or get flowers.

•  Pick them from a park
• Go to a farmers market and see if they have a flower vendor
• Go to a florist shop and ask for them to put it in your bag
• Go to the Grocery store and get herbs instead, they last longer and they're edible

You can also go on an experience. Whatever you like doing. Hiking, drawing, eating etc!
