Is college necessary?
Do you really need to go to college? What do you want to do in life, what do you want to be? Unless your answer to that is "I want to got to college" than you might want to rethink 4 years of your life. I think that college is irrelevant today. There are tons of people who have become very successful at 9-5 jobs and they only have a GED! And there are people who have started their own businesses and are rocking the game! Back in the 1960's teens would go to college and then find a job starting at a low level. Something that they could do physically while they were young or academically (it was hard for them but not in a couple years). They would move up in places a couple years and so on. Fast forward, they've been working at the same job for the last 40 years and they only have couple more years till retirement! Because that's what their parents did. I don't know about you but thats not the kind of life I want to live. I want to explore different jobs and have fun! We've gotten so used to the K-12, College, Work, Retire and Die thing that we think thats our full potential.
You can go on youtube or other platforms and see people living their dream life and working at jobs they love.
I know the college life sounds amazing in some ways and I really want to experience the friends, patience and forgetting to study for a class too. More than anything I wanted to go to Prom and be in a sorority. But now I'm homeschooled, so I won't get to go to prom and I know that I have the choice of going to college, it's not a must. A lot of business people make friends that share the same things that they do and they might become business partners, get married or in the long run have an investor for a business you want to start. It's like having a trick up your sleeve. Going to college is also great for having life long friends. Reminiscing about the college days and all the crazy things you did. Having someone that you hung out with back then can be great. But it can also slow down your future because you're still caught up in your past.
